Research Team of Advanced Energy Storage Technology at ZJU-Hangzhou Global Scientific and Technological Innovation Center is looking for post-docs in the field of energy storage. Prof. Bo Zheng, leader of the team, is a “Cheung Kong Scholar’s Program” Young Professor of Ministry of Education and Fellow of Institute of Physics (IOP), the UK and currently Deputy Director of State Key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilization. With his achievements in the R & D of advanced energy storage technology, he has been funded by National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars and Newton Advanced Fellowship of the Royal Society, the UK.

I. Mainly recruit talents in

1.1 R & D of advanced energy storage technologies such as supercapacitors and lithium-ion batteries;

1.2 Research on microscopic mechanisms of heat and mass transfer in energy storage processes;

1.3 Nano-energy materials development;

1.4 R & D of plasma technology. 

Priorities will be given to the PhD with research experience in engineering thermal physics, condensed matter physics, materials, chemical engineering and other related disciplines, in particular, those who have proficiency in numerical simulation tools such as FEM, MD, DFT and one or more microscopic detection techniques such as NMR, EQCM.

Up to the recruitment of 2 to 3 postdocs. 

III. Application requirements

3.1 Have a Ph.D. degree awarded by a top university or research institute in China or overseas within the last three years, with good moral, physical and mental health, and under 35 years old (in principle);

3.2 Have solid foundation and research experience in related disciplines. Priorities will be given to the applicants with experience in interdisciplinary research;  

3.3 Full-time engagement in postdoctoral studies;

3.4 Good sense of teamwork and strong capacity of working independently;

3.5 Good English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

IV. Benefits and support

4.1 Annual pre-tax salary, in principle, between RMB 300,000 to 400,000 yuan (including local government talent subsidy), discussed individually for outstanding applicants;

4.2 Talent polices of Hangzhou and Xiaoshan District governments to those who go on to work at the Center after completing postdoc studies;

4.3 Support grants of Hangzhou and Xiaoshan District respectively to those who receive the funding from China Postdoctoral Science Foundation and Zhejiang Provincial Postdoctoral Research Projects;

4.4 Talent apartment from Xiaoshan District or apartment of the Center;

4.5 First-class experiment and research facilities;

4.6 Additional funding or allowances to those who participate in major research projects of the Center and score remarkable achievements;

4.7 Those who meet the requirements during their postdoctoral studies can apply for the senior professional and technical positions of the Center;

4.8 Those who have outstanding performance during the work are recommended to apply for the faculty positions of Zhejiang University or R&D positions of the Center if they meet requirements;

4.9 Those who meet the talent requirements of Hangzhou will be given priority in the lottery for purchasing the first apartment.
