Youth Talent Excellence Program--Research Team of Advanced Energy Storage Technology

Research Team of Advanced Energy Storage Technology at ZJU-Hangzhou Global Scientific and Technological Innovation Center is looking for two post-docs in the field of energy storage. Prof. Bo Zheng, leader of the team, is a “Cheung Kong Scholar’s Program” Young Professor of Ministry of Education and Fellow of Institute of Physics (IOP), the UK, and currently Deputy Director of State Key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilization. With his achievements in the R & D of advanced energy storage technology, he has been funded by National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars and Newton Advanced Fellowship of the Royal Society, the UK.

Youth Talent Excellence Program 

I. Mainly recruit talents in

1.1 R & D of advanced energy storage technologies such as supercapacitors and lithium-ion batteries;

1.2 Research on microscopic mechanisms of heat and mass transfer in energy storage processes;

1.3 Nano-energy materials development;

1.4 R & D of plasma technology;

Priorities will be given to the PhD with research experience in engineering thermal physics, condensed matter physics, materials, chemical engineering and other related disciplines, in particular, those who have proficiency in numerical simulation tools such as FEM, MD, DFT and one or more microscopic detection techniques such as NMR, EQCM.

II. Application Requirements

2.1 Have a Ph.D. degree awarded by a top university or research institute in China or overseas;

2.2 Under 35 years old (in principle, but exceptions for age may apply for outstanding candidates);

2.3 Have solid foundation, research experience and deep academic attainments in relevant disciplines. Priorities will be given to the applicants with experience in interdisciplinary research;  

2.4 Have the ability to conduct research independently as PI;

2.5 Have, in principle, at least one centre for post-doctoral studies or work experience of two years;

2.6 Good sense of teamwork and strong capacity of working independently.  


III. Benefits and support

3.3 A research fund of RMB 3-5 million yuan;

3.4 About 150 m2 of office and lab space;

3.5 Access to “one-stop full-range” administrative support and the shared large instruments and equipment of the research platform;

3.6 Successful candidates who have outstanding research performance and meet the talent requirements of Zhejiang University can be recommended to be employed by Zhejiang University.
