Global University Leaders Visit HIC-ZJU During 2025 World University Presidents Forum

On November 8–9, the 2025 World University Presidents Forum and the Annual Conference of the International Higher Education Forum 2025 were held at the Hangzhou International Expo Center. The event gathered nearly 1,000 representatives from over 40 countries and regions, including 70 university presidents, 20 leaders of international organizations, 20 academicians, and over 200 Chinese university presidents and secretaries.

 

During the forum, a group of international delegates — including representatives from the World Bank, International Telecommunication Union, GCC Council of Ministers of Labor and Social Affairs, Doha University of Science and Technology, Korea University, UCLA, University of Cape Town, University of Salamanca, Heriot-Watt University, University of Sydney, and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University — visited the ZJU-Hangzhou Global Scientific and Technological Innovation Center (HIC-ZJU) for an in-depth exchange.



The delegation visited the HIC-ZJU Exhibition Hall and Intelligent Bio/Chem Manufacturing Institute, where they explored key research breakthroughs including straw-to-graphene conversion technology and biobased biodegradable materialsGuests also interacted with HIC-ZJU’s latest quadruped robots — including Panther, Apollo, and BAOBAO — showcasing its innovation vitality.

 

Visitors spoke highly of HIC-ZJU’s achievements in scientific innovation and technology commercialization, recognizing its forward-looking strategy across integrated circuits, advanced materials, synthetic biology, and scientific instrumentation. They highlighted the originality of its research, the clarity of its technological vision, and its strong potential for real-world impact.



Delegates also voiced keen interest in building partnerships in research, talent cultivation, and technology transfer, and in exploring new pathways for global higher education collaboration with HIC-ZJU.
