HIC-ZJU Unveils “Bolt,” the World’s Fastest Full-Size Humanoid Robot

Date:2026-02-04View:10

The ZJU–Hangzhou Global Scientific and Technological Innovation Center (HIC-ZJU) has unveiled “Bolt,” the world’s first full-size humanoid robot to achieve a peak running speed of 10 meters per second, setting a new global benchmark in humanoid locomotion and motion control.

Developed by the Humanoid Robotics Research Institute of HIC-ZJU in collaboration with MirrorMe Technology and Kaierda Group, Bolt’s performance was captured in real time without speed enhancement, demonstrating exceptional stability, balance, and agility at extreme speeds. The achievement has drawn wide attention from international media, including CGTN and Xinhua News Agency.

Standing 1.75 meters tall and weighing 75 kilograms, Bolt integrates innovative joint design, high-power drive systems, and advanced whole-body control, enabling explosive movement and dynamic balance approaching human athletic performance.

The project builds on the team’s earlier world-record achievements in high-speed quadruped robotics and highlights a successful industry–research collaboration model. Designed for future applications in sports science, emergency response, industrial inspection, and specialized operations, Bolt demonstrates HIC-ZJU’s commitment to advancing humanoid robotics through deep integration of research and industry, accelerating the transition from laboratory breakthroughs to real-world impact.
