The 2nd Global Technology Innovation Competition has officially launched in Hangzhou, with Zhejiang University-Hangzhou Global Scientific and Technological Innovation Center (HIC-ZJU) taking the lead in organizing two specialized tracks: Biomanufacturing and AI+Optoelectronic.
Under the theme “Global Innovation, Entrepreneurship in Zhejiang,” the competition brings together cutting-edge technologies, global innovation resources, and industrial opportunities to accelerate the transformation of breakthrough technologies into market-ready solutions.
The Biomanufacturing Track focuses on areas including intelligent design of genetic and enzyme components, artificial cell factories, and gene regulation and metabolic pathway optimization.
The AI+Optoelectronic Track highlights the convergence of artificial intelligence and optoelectronic technologies, with a focus on core optoelectronic devices, optoelectronic integrated systems, and emerging applications.
Building on HIC-ZJU’s strengths in research, technology transfer, incubation, and industry collaboration, the two tracks will provide promising projects with support in technology validation, financing, policy services, and industrial matchmaking, helping innovators move from the laboratory toward commercialization.
The first edition of the competition attracted more than 640 projects from over 10 countries and regions, with a number of high-quality projects subsequently advancing toward commercialization in Zhejiang.
Through the second edition, HIC-ZJU continues to strengthen its role as a bridge between global scientific innovation and Zhejiang’s industrial ecosystem, connecting world-class technologies with the resources and application opportunities needed to create real-world impact.
